Blueberry and Orange Scones
Here in the states most people call scones, ‘biscuits’, which I find confusing because biscuits are cookies to me! I’ve also noticed that biscuits (scones) are usually savory here and served with chicken and meat.

It’s coming towards the end of summer and it’s still balmy and warm here in Seattle. I have been dying to make ice-cream sandwiches all summer, and it’s only now at the end of August that I actually get to make them.
Courgettes or Zucchini, whatever you like to call them, are one of the easiest veggies to grow. The problem is when they start growing, it’s kind of hard to keep up with them.
I never realized how important potatoes were to me until I moved to the other side of the world and realized potatoes just weren’t the same here as they are in Ireland. I am not sure why – I guess the soil is different, the climate is different, there are different varieties etc. The point is, potatoes over here just don’t taste as good to me as our famous Irish …
Do you ever have that moment of panic when you realize you have nothing for dessert and you’ve friends coming for dinner? I sometimes get so caught up making the main course that I have no time left to make dessert. Rather than rush out and buy a dessert though, there are plenty of things you can whip up in minutes to create a wonderful home-made dessert.
I’m back again with ‘yet another’ cherry dessert. They are so good and plentiful this summer, and I want to make the most of this bumper cherry season. This week, I made some wonderful cherry yogurt popsicles.
