February rolls around once again, and marks my four year blogiversary. Every year I like to celebrate the fact that Stasty.com is still alive and cooking 😉 with a special cake to mark the occasion.

One my favorite tea time suppers is a simple boiled egg and toasted soldiers. It’s easy, tasty, and such comfort food. It’s also nostalgic, and reminds me of being a child, enjoying the wonder of small toasted soldiers.
I am so thankful for root vegetables in the winter. Bright orange carrots, ruby red beets, wonderful yellow parsnips – without these brilliant roots, winter would be very dull. The great thing about root vegetables is that virtually any combination makes for a hearty winter soup.
