Simple and tasty food.
Maybe it’s the Irish in me, and our love of potatoes – but I think baked potatoes always make such a great winter meal. I usually turn to baked potatoes when I am tired and hungry and want something simple and delicious.
After a long lazy Christmas break, I’m finally welcoming the New Year with some hearty soup. Though it’s not as cold here in Seattle as the rest of the states, there is still a wintery chill in the air. Minestrone is a quick and easy soup to make, and really hearty and delicious.
The OH jokingly said he is going to open up a restaurant called Fad. The idea of this fantasy restaurant is that it serves only the latest food fads – whether it is macaroons, bacon, kale, cupcakes or cake pops! He could be onto something 🙂 people become obsessed by food fads.
It’s that time of year again, when supermarkets try to sell us green paraphernalia and convince everyone to be Irish for a day. Here, everyone insists on calling it ‘St. Patty’s day’ which kind of makes of me smile and cringe at the same time. It is great to see our feast day celebrated across the world though.
