Now that the weather has turned a bit chillier, I find that I am much hungrier in the morning, and what better way to start the day than with some cake! I like to think of this cake as a breakfast cake, because it has lots of fresh fruit, natural yogurt, and not too much sugar. It’s the perfect cake to enjoy with a morning tea or coffee.
We are just back from a balmy sun holiday, and I am feeling full of energy and happy to be back in the kitchen. As much as I love eating out on vacation, by the end of it I begin to crave some home cooking.
I’m back again with ‘yet another’ cherry dessert. They are so good and plentiful this summer, and I want to make the most of this bumper cherry season. This week, I made some wonderful cherry yogurt popsicles.
There is something mesmerizing about chocolate ganache. When I made it the other day, I fell into a kind of trance. Dark chocolate and warm cream slowly melting together creates the most amazingly delicious smell. The more the chocolate melts, the glossier the ganache gets and it feels like you are making a bowl of rich brown silk.
